Yes.  A Joyful Noise Piano Studio provides all required books and lesson materials (with the exception of a keyboard or piano for at-home use), so parents don't have to worry about purchasing curriculum.  All materials are for the student to keep and do not need to be returned to the studio.  An annual registration and supply fee of $20 is due at the beginning of each calendar year.

A Joyful Noise Piano Studio runs much like a private school, and tuition is based on an average for an entire year.  Tuition is divided into equal monthly payments and based on enrollment, not attendance.  This reserves the student's exclusive lesson time throughout the calendar year.  Current tuition rates are listed on the studio home page.

A Joyful Noise Piano Studio understands that life can happen unexpectedly.  If you need to miss a lesson, please notify me as soon as possible.  I have reserved certain days within the scheduled calendar year for make-up lessons.  Refunds on tuition are not issued for any reason, including missed lessons.

Absolutely!  A Joyful Noise Piano Studio welcomes the opportunity to work with individuals who have never had the opportunity to learn music or play an instrument.  You are never to old to learn!

At A Joyful Noise Piano Studio, I believe learning music should be joyful, encouraging, and rewarding.  I strive to create a positive environment where every student can grow in confidence, develop strong musical skills, and experience the joy of making music.  With flexible homeschool scheduling, personalized instruction, and all books and materials provided, families can focus on learning and enjoying the musical journey together.

I believe students learn best when they are encouraged, challenged appropriately, and genuinely enjoy coming to lessons.  I create lessons that are engaging and varied while maintaining high musical standards.

Students learn through a combination of:

  • Piano performance
  • Music games and activities
  • Rhythm exercises
  • Ear training
  • Music theory
  • Creative challenges
  • Goal setting and positive encouragement

By making lessons both fun and purposeful, students stay motivated while building strong musical skills that last a lifetime.

Consistent practice is the key to success.  Recommended daily practice times vary from student to student.  Even short, consistent daily practice sessions are far more effective than only practicing once or twice a week.

Every student goes through seasons when motivation is low.  Rather than using guilt or pressure, I work with both the student and parents to discover what is causing the lack of motivation.  Sometimes it means choosing music that better matches the student's interests, breaking assignments into smaller goals, or finding creative ways to make practice more engaging.

My goal is to help students develop self-discipline while still finding joy in making music.  Consistent, imperfect practice is far more valuable than waiting until a student feels motivated.

More than anything, I hope my students remember that learning music was a joyful experience.

I hope they remember feeling encouraged, capable, and confident.  I want them to leave my studio not only with the ability to play the piano, but also with perseverance, discipline, creativity, and an appreciation for beautiful music.

Whether they continue playing professionally, serve in their church, accompany their family in singing, or simply enjoy playing for themselves, I hope music remains a lifelong gift that enriches their lives.

Most importantly, I hope every student knows that they were valued, believed in, and celebrated throughout their musical journey.
